Safety Measures Enforced to prevent COVID-19

Everyone in the world is aware of the devastating effects of COVID-19 which is leaving almost no part of the world unaffected. We wish our colleagues, seafarers, friends, and everyone around the world reading this and their families the very best of health.

LSI remains open as we continue to work on critical projects like power generation and water desalination plants which are vital for this part of the world. We continue to play a supporting role in mainline shipping which continues to supply the world with essential products.

From early on we have followed the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization and that of the Local Authorities in the counties we operate. Here are a few of the Guidelines we implemented:

Hand sanitizers and antibacterial soaps were placed everywhere (Office/Yard/Vessels)
Face masks distributed
Social/Physical distancing (Including educating the personnel)
Closing off our messroom
All staff/personnel temperature screening done daily
Wipe downs of all door handles/desks/reception at 2-hour intervals
Freezing of leave applications and personnel returns
Limiting the number of people in anyone’s vehicle
Canceled 90% of all face to face meetings
Seafarers shore leave suspended
All personnel are instructed to continue to follow local guidelines such as the 8:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew which is prevalent.

So far we are pleased that none of our 235 personnel have been affected. We hope and pray that it will stay the same. We thank all of them for their personal sacrifices and efforts that they are making to stop the spread of the virus whilst containing to do their job on critical projects.
