New Year’s Event at RAK
n recent events of the New Year’s Celebration, LSI Vessel Cat Ann, under the command of Capt. Arnel Prado, completed general marine support jobs in Ras Al Khaimah for an Events and Contracting Company. The scope of work included placing 2-ton anchor blocks with anchor setups as per GPS locations for Marjan Island (RAK) where the New Year’s Eve Fireworks took place. Also included in the scope of work was towage of 18 steel pontoons that were to be anchored for NYE fireworks. Post the New Year’s Event, Cat Ann towed back the pontoons back to the client’s location and lift/remove all anchor blocks back to the same.
The New Year’s Event at Ras Al Khaimah broke two world records with the New Year Fireworks display, which was a spectacular event. The emirate now holds the record for the ‘longest straight line of fireworks’ and ‘longest chain of fireworks’ thanks to the celebrations. The Event was a huge success and well done to all involved.
