LSI’s Largest Project Involvement at La Mer, Dubai
From January-2015 to August-2017, LSI has had the opportunity to work with one of the prestigious projects in Dubai – La Mer, located in Jumeira Open Beach, Dubai for our Class A Contractor and Long Term Client. A total of 25 vessels and cranes were at some point involved in the project and was therefore considered LSI’s largest project involvement in the period. LSI Tugs: Bass Ann, Grouper Ann, Swordfish Ann, Bass Ann, Manta Ann, Hamour Ann 2, Turbot Ann, Bream Ann, Mullet Ann and Cat Ann along with LSI Barges: Bahar Ann, Bab Ann, Khor Ann 2, Merlin 202, GC88, Hamriyah Ann, Aegean Ann, Aden Ann, S224, Bay Ann 2 & Sea Ann 2 and LSI Cranes: Manitowoc 3900 S2, Manitowoc 3900 W, Manitowoc 4000 W & Manitowoc 4100 S2 were actively working at the project site. Works included rock and sand transport, fitting of silt screens, excavation, Armour rock placement, Coral transplant, beach nourishment and profiling.
La Mer now a thriving new community of Dubai, spread across 9.5 million sq ft of existing and reclaimed land. Comprising four distinct zones – the beach, a leisure and entertainment hub, North Island, and South Island – La Mer will feature commercial, leisure, residential and hospitality components.
The Project was successfully completed and we are more than glad to have contributed as lead supplier of marine equipment and auxiliaries to this very prestigious project for our Client. Well done to all involved.
