Dubai’s Burj Al Arab has unveiled its much-anticipated – ‘The Terrace’, a 10,000 sq m artificial island housing a luxury leisure facility, stretches 100m into the Arabian Gulf from behind the iconic hotel.
LSI Vessels: Barge GC88 (with crane M4000), Bab Ann, Cat Ann and Manta Ann were actively working in the initial stages for approx. 2 months of this ambitious project for a local Class A Contracting Company and it brings us great joy to be a part in the making of the expansion of the world famous and iconic hotel which has helped Dubai put itself on the tourism map!
Famous stunts such as the tennis match between legends Andre Agassi vs Rodger Federer and a golf promotion of Rory McIlroy were filmed there on the Helideck. Further it has accommodated many of the worlds royals, dignitaries, politicians and film/music stars.
LSI has a long history with the Burj Al Arab hotel which started in 1994 and is considered as LSI’s first major project as a marine chartering company with many (+-10) of our vessels actively working for 1.5 years during the construction phase of the manmade island, the bridge and the foundations of the hotel etc ..
