Acquisition of 2 Tugboats | Fleet Expansion
LSI Management is pleased to announce the acquisition of 2 number secondhand Sister Tugboats Herring Ann and Mackerel Ann to meet the increased demand for our services from our esteemed clients and as a part of our fleet expansion.
Herring Ann arrived in Sharjah Hamriyah on 10/06/19 and underwent maintenance to ensure quality to our clients and was painted in LSI colors (Orange/White/Black/Grey Deck) prior to going for her first project in Kuwait on 29/07/19 and is on a 3 month extendable charter and we have received word that the client is very happy how the tug is performing onsite.
Mackerel Ann which arrived on 10/08/19 and has completed her maintenance and change of colors and has secured a 2 month extendable hire and has departed for her assignment to Dubai 2 days ago.
Both these tugs were purchased from a Port operator/owner and were also dry-docked prior delivery.
LSI always names it’s tugboats after species of Fish, in this case the names Herring and Mackerel were chosen due to these being North Sea fish and tugs were originally built in the Netherlands. The name of the fish is then followed up by the name “Ann” and is the name of our Founders late Mother “Annie”.
These tugs were chosen due to their compact and shallow draft design, good maneuverability and high bollard pull in relation to their size.The tugs are approx. 1300 HP and have a Bollard pull of approx. 16 ton and fly the UAE flag.
