Acquisition of New Vessels and Crane
LSI has recently acquired 2 tugboats, a specialized heavy lift crane barge, and an AHC 250 ton crawler crane from Oman. The Tugboats are renamed Haddock Ann and Jackfish Ann, and the Crane Barge is renamed Arabian Ann 2. As always we initiated drydocking and maintenance for the newly purchased vessels to ensure the best of quality for our clients and customers.
The process and procedures for the acquisition took a while due to multiple delays especially with the pandemic situation and travel bans, we are more than happy with the fleet expansion of an additional 3 vessels and a crane. Haddock Ann has completed all maintenance procedures and has already completed its first small towage, while Jackfish Ann and Arabian Ann are still ongoing with maintenance works and will be ready soon for our good clients. The AHC crane has completed maintenance procedures as well and is ready to go for its first project to Saudi Arabia.
Tugboats: Haddock Ann and Jackfish Ann
Haddock Ann which accommodates 10 personnel, has a 37 Ton anchor handling winch with a stern roller. She also has a 20 Ton towing hook with a tested bollard pull of 12 Ton.
As seen in the pics, Jackfish Ann completed its drydocking and is still ongoing maintenance works and minor upgrades which will be completed soon and ready for sea trials. Jackfish Ann accommodates 10 personnel as well and has a 15 Ton towing hook with a Mechanical quick release. We are hoping to see Jackfish Ann come into complete LSI colors/livery soon and start operations in approx. 1 month.
Specialized Crane Barge: Arabian Ann 2
Arabian Ann 2 is a major new asset for the company and will be considered as one of our Flagships. The Heavy lift barge has a Derrick/Ringer Crane which supports a lift of 200 Ton up to 25m radius and 75 Ton on 25 meter radius with the Auxiliary hoist. The crane barge with a DWT of 5,300 Tons and originally built in Dubai 2010 has a crane operational angle of 220 degrees is fitted with anti heel and self ballasting system. The Anti Healing System is important especially for a heavy lift crane, for example – when you lift a heavy load on the starboard side of the barge, evidently the barge will lean towards the same side, in which case the Anti Healing System kicks in and pumps water into the Portside tanks automatically so that the crane barge remains level. This process is seamless and carried out automatically by the onboard PLC system of the barge.
The crane barge also has a four-point mooring system with double drum winches with 4 x 5ton Delta flipper anchors and has an Office Cabin, Toilet facilities, storeroom and a 385 kWA Generator. As you can see in later pictures, maintenance works are being carried out onboard the vessel and the specialized crane barge is expected to be ready soon as it is in the final stages of the same.
Crane: AHC (American Hoist Crane AH9320)
The American Hoist Crane AH9320 was also purchased from Oman, and post-maintenance procedures is currently onboard our barge Pacific Ann 2. The 250 Ton crawler crane is on top condition and ready for the project works as seen in the pictures attached.
We are very pleased with acquisitions which are inline with our fleet expansion and renewal and wish the vessels, cranes operators and crews a long and safe career within the LSI family !
